What inspired you to make your first change into leading a healthier, more active life?
I always had the feeling that I need to adapt to an active and healthy lifestyle. The importance of having a disciplined lifestyle and a healthy physique is enormous when it comes to productivity and general well-being. Thus, to take the first step, I started eliminating one unhealthy food item from my lifestyle each year. But the biggest point of inspiration was the need to give back to society after establishing myself and my company. So, in 2023, we opened a school for the underprivileged kids and decided to go on a fundraiser trek to Everest Base Camp. Although the preparation was extremely difficult, the inspiration to do good for the less fortunate kept me and my family going.

What did you do?
For trekking to Everest Base Camp, one needs to undergo a rigorous training process and that is exactly what I did. Me along with my family trained every day for seven months. We had practice hikes every weekend and as a family walked more than 6 million steps. We covered 12 summits in England and Wales totalling over 30,000 feet in total.
How have the changes you made improved your mental and physical fitness?
After inculcating the changes in my daily life, I could see it develop me as a person. I can control urges better. Also, the desire to consume fatty and unhealthy food has almost vanished. I am amazed to find out how well I can handle pressure and think clearly better than before. I am always on my peak form and my worries and stress have largely reduced.

What is the hardest thing about maintaining your new, improved habits?
It’s all about determination and discipline. A lot of people say that maintaining a healthy lifestyle is difficult after some point of time due to peer pressure and other societal influences. But to be fair, after maintaining my new lifestyle, I did face a few hurdles or the occasional desire to cheat. These testing times are the hardest thing about my new lifestyle but as I mentioned before, it’s all about discipline and mental resilience.
What’s next for you?
We have plans to set up more fundraising activities in the near future. This helps to keep us fit while also giving back to the society.

How would you advise someone who is wanting to improve their physical and mental fitness?
I would say, take one step at a time and set up small goals. It could be just one thing that you choose to improve about your daily life. Taking these small steps will ultimately help you to have a more practical and manageable approach to fitness. Don’t get bogged down by the long journey as the result will be priceless.
